We did it! Camp Hope came true in the summer of 2022 as children from 15 states joined us in Central Ohio for the first-ever overnight camp for children with pancreatitis. None of this would have been possible without the powerful partnership of The National Pancreas Foundation, which shared our dream to provide pediatric pancreatitis patients with the opportunity to attend camp at no cost.
There are so many people we want to thank: our donors, our parents, our volunteers, our medical team, our Board of Directors, our campers – all of whom took a leap of faith in believing in Camp Hope.
And Camp Hope did not disappoint. The rolling green fields of Camp Flying Hope in Central Ohio served as the host for our unprecedented experience. Our campers bonded over shared history, all of whom had never before attended overnight camp, and the overwhelming majority of whom, had never met another child with pancreatitis.
Our campers bonded over their disease and came away from this experience with lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, and perhaps a few flecks of dried paint in their hair from an epic Color Olympics 🙂 We will treasure our time together at Camp Hope. For now, we say so long. We can’t wait to be back next year!
